- Ryan Heath – Journalist, POLITICO: “A very popular question from the European Biogas Association: ‘Do you consider renewable gas such as biogas as sustainable solutions for the future?’”.
- Maros Sefcovic – Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of the Energy Union: “We very much recognize the potential of biogas and advanced biofuels in cutting the GHG emissions very significantly. But of course, each biogas is different, it depends on the technology, how you mix it, what is required into the generation of biogas. Therefore, we push very much for this advanced level of biofuel, because it is more complicated than just make them from crop products. So, biogas can really help us reduce GHG emissions, but in this case, what we do is that we deal with this issue in the fuels directive, as well as in another directive dealing with the sources where of energy and the reforms of the energy sector”.
